NUFAM commercial vehicle podcast (10): Truck parking spaces – the emergency on Germany's roads

The Truck Driver Forum at NUFAM 2025 addressed topics that concern drivers, such as truck parking spaces. Experts discussed these issues on stage. The discussion is now available as a podcast episode.

Truck parking spaces are in short supply on German motorways. There are too few of them, and the infrastructure is often lacking. The Karlsruhe Exhibition Centre has recently started offering BOSCH Secure Truck Parking on its premises, thereby helping to bring about at least a small improvement in the situation.

Nevertheless, the general problem remains. And because the issue is of concern to so many in the industry, experts discussed it at the Truck Driver Forum during NUFAM 2025.

The participants were: Andrè Frank, Head of Operations at Niederlassung SüdwestAutobahn GmbH, Matthias Pfitzenmaier, lawyer at Dietz, Tonhäuser & Partner I Haus des Rechts, Jörg Schwerdfeger, Human Resources Manager & Safety Officer at Westfalen-Lippe Speditions- und Lagerhausgesellschaft GmbH, Jan-Philipp Weers, Head of Bosch Road Services at Bosch Service Solutions, and Julia Wildt, Managing Partner at Friedrich Wildt GmbH, together with moderator Thomas Rosenberger, discussed truck stops and how the number and conditions on site can be improved.
