NUFAM DAY 2025: From the new outdoor area to the special hydrogen show - everything about the Karlsruhe commercial vehicle trade fair in one video
NUFAM takes place from 25 to 28 September at the Karlsruhe Trade Fair Centre. For two years now, the organisers have been looking ahead to the event with the NUFAM DAY - and this year is no exception. New: NUFAM DAY 2025 will take place digitally.
Since 2009, the commercial vehicle industry in Germany and Europe has been meeting every two years at the Karlsruhe Trade Fair Centre. Since then, NUFAM has established itself as an important meeting place for the industry.
In 2023, the NUFAM organisers held the NUFAM DAY - Talk & Network for the first time. The second edition followed in 2024. This picks up on NUFAM topics, looks ahead to the event and provides an opportunity to engage in dialogue outside of the NUFAM years.
In the first two years, NUFAM DAY took place as an on-site event at the trade fair. A panel discussion - 2023 on the search for the right alternative drive type, 2024 on truck tolls - was followed by an exhibition in which companies presented current commercial vehicle technology. In addition, industry participants were able to continue the exciting discussions from the beginning in a relaxed atmosphere.
NUFAM DAY digital
This year, NUFAM DAY is celebrating its third edition - digitally. In a 30-minute video, members of the press, visitors and exhibitors alike can find out everything they need to know about the commercial vehicle trade fair.
"After the premiere of NUFAM DAY two years ago and its continuation in 2024 were both great successes, it was clear to us that we wanted to organise another event this year. NUFAM DAY is ideally suited to highlighting the challenges facing the industry. Where does the shoe pinch? What needs to be done? Where is there still a problem? At NUFAM, we then show what answers our exhibitors have to these challenges. But the day is also perfect for continuing the networking character of NUFAM in non-NUFAM years and for staying in dialogue with our exhibitors and the key players in the industry in general," says Beate Frères, Vice President of Messe Karlsruhe.
This is how NUFAM DAY 2025 works
After the welcome and general introductory remarks by Division Director Beate Frères and Project Manager Jochen Bortfeld, Project Manager Florian Klag explains the possibilities that the completely renovated outdoor area of Messe Karlsruhe will offer during NUFAM and in the future.
"For the third edition of NUFAM DAY, we deliberately opted for a digital version. This allowed us to summarise all the information about NUFAM in a compact format without having to sacrifice content. The digital version was also the best when it came to presenting our new outdoor area and its possibilities," says Jochen Bortfeld.
Following NUFAM DAY, the NUFAM team is turning the tables. Instead of bringing exhibitors to the Karlsruhe Trade Fair Centre, the commercial vehicle trade fair visits them on site at their company premises. The exhibitors explain why they are coming to NUFAM and what visitors can expect at their stands.
Special show on hydrogen for the first time
At the highlight of NUFAM DAY, presenter and trade journalist Marcus Walter talks to Jochen Bortfeld about everything relevant to NUFAM in September. Both will be doing so in a special setting. The exhibition ‘Legends on Wheels’ is taking place at the Technik Museum Speyer until 5 March 2026. Daimler Trucks will be showcasing historic commercial vehicles. Visitors have the opportunity to get free tickets for the commercial vehicle exhibition on site.
Marcus Walter also talks to Dr Daniel Hrdina and Michael Rein at the museum. The two are members of the board of Allianz Wasserstoff e.V. The alliance is bringing a special exhibition to NUFAM. In the interview, Hrdina and Rein explain why the hydrogen burner should play a more important role as the third pillar of renewable drive systems in the future.
