Karlsruhe Exhibition Centre becomes a meeting place for truck drivers

Anyone travelling by lorry near the Karlsruhe Exhibition Centre will soon find a secure parking space there. Together with Bosch, the exhibition centre offers Secure Truck Parking. Sanitary facilities are also available.

Since 2009, NUFAM has been the meeting place for truck drivers every two years. Soon, the Karlsruhe Exhibition Centre grounds will become an important round-the-clock destination for truckers looking for a clean, safe and well-equipped rest and relaxation area near the A5 motorway.

As part of the upgrading of the Peter Gross Bau site on the open-air grounds of the Karlsruhe Exhibition Centre, approximately 40 permanent truck parking spaces have been created. Additional parking spaces are available on a temporary basis, depending on local traffic conditions.

Well equipped

The parking spaces are equipped with sanitary facilities and a separate truck drainage system. The entire parking area is monitored by CCTV and is therefore secure. Truck drivers can enter and exit at any time thanks to the camera surveillance.

Messe Karlsruhe is working with Bosch on the truck parking spaces. Bosch Secure Truck Parking enables drivers to check whether there are free parking spaces available while they are still on the road. This allows routes to be planned even more efficiently and safely. After registering free of charge, drivers can check the availability of parking spaces online.

The lorry driver books the parking space online and enters the number plate. A camera in front of the parking space automatically recognises the number plate and allows the driver to enter the premises. The lorry may then remain parked for as long as it has been registered.

The parking spaces will be available after Recycling Activ & Tiefbau Live, which takes place from 9 to 11 October.
