State and federal transport ministries take on patronage for NUFAM 2025

Both the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Transport and the Federal Ministry of Transport have once again assumed patronage of NUFAM 2025. This demonstrates the importance of the commercial vehicle trade fair in Karlsruhe.

Since its inception in 2009, NUFAM has developed into one of the most important meeting places for the European commercial vehicle industry. Politicians have long recognised this, which is why the state and federal transport ministries have once again taken on the patronage of the Karlsruhe commercial vehicle trade fair for the 2025 edition.

"Climate-neutral mobility, artificial intelligence and resilient supply chains: these topics will determine the future of the commercial vehicle industry. NUFAM brings them to the stage, creates space for exchange and shows which innovations are already working today. Forums on topics such as charging infrastructure, AI innovations and telematics solutions promise new impetus. With its practical focus, this trade fair is an important building block for modern logistics and Germany as a strong business location. I was happy to take on the patronage," says Federal Transport Minister Patrick Schnieder.

‘Freight transport crucial for Baden-Württemberg as a business location’

"Well-organised and modern freight transport is crucial for a strong business location such as Baden-Württemberg. In order to further advance the drive transition in logistics, it is important to benefit from mutual experiences and develop joint ideas for the future. NUFAM offers the perfect venue for this exchange," says Elke Zimmer, State Secretary in the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Transport.

Zimmer will take part in the panel discussion at NUFAM on Friday, 26 September, starting at 11 a.m. Zimmer will then discuss the topic of ‘Decarbonisation in freight transport: systems, practice and infrastructure – an outlook’ with Tobias Lang, Managing Director of the BGL Regional Association Baden, Dr Bernd Meurer, Head of the Trailer Electrification Product Segment at ZF Commercial Vehicles, Sebastian Lahmann, Head of the Implementation Team at NOW GmbH, and Christoph Fitz, Managing Director of DAF Trucks Germany and Kim Johanna Kohlmeyer, Head of the Capital Office at MAN Truck & Bus SE. The discussion, which will take place in the Action Hall of the Karlsruhe Exhibition Centre, will be moderated by journalist Thomas Rosenberger.

Following the discussion, participants in the talk will take a VIP tour of Martin Knirsch Kraftfahrzeuge GmbH, Pneuhage, MAN Germany, Nissan Germany, HAAS GTL and the NUFAM Demo Park.

"We are proud that politicians recognise the enormous value of NUFAM for the commercial vehicle industry and have taken on the patronage. This shows that we have made the right decisions again this year with our concept, our structure, our exhibitors and our ideas. I am also delighted that Elke Zimmer, a woman who knows both NUFAM and the commercial vehicle industry inside out, will be taking part in the panel discussion," says Jochen Bortfeld, project manager of NUFAM.
